Student caught bringing marijuana at school in CDO

A Grade 10 student in Cagayan de Oro was caught bringing dried marijuana before he could enter the school.

Police said the security guard of the high school found the marijuana leaves placed inside a cigarette pack while inspecting the student’s bag at the gate.

The 16-year-old student was brought to the police station.

The student may face charges.

GMA Regional TV tried to reach out to the school officials but the principal was not around for comment, as of this writing.

Police and school officials have existing coordination protocol as this was reportedly not the first time a student was caught in possession of illegal drugs.

Authorities is also set to intensify efforts and interventions to prevent students from engaging in illegal drug activities.
